Is Jordan Fuchs a football star or a basketball standout?

The answer is yes.

One of the top two-sport athletes in New York City, the rising senior has Division I interest in both sports, speaking to his tremendous athleticism.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound small forward came to Christ the King to play basketball and enjoyed a stellar junior season for the Royals, averaging 9.3 points per game on a squad stacked with offensive firepower. Fuchs did most of his work inside, using his muscular frame and athleticism to battle for rebounds.

After getting the itch to play football again by watching college and pro games on television, Fuchs emerged as a spectacular wide receiver for the Royals. He had nine touchdowns and earned a spot on MSG Varsity’s All-Metro Team wide receiver watch list.

“I just had an inner voice, a drive inside of me to play football,” Fuchs said on MSG Varsity’s Boros Beat show in May. “I thought it would be great to help me in the physical aspect of the basketball court, too.”

Despite limited exposure on the gridiron, Fuchs has received scholarship offers from Rutgers and Connecticut. He also has offers from Seton Hall and Marist on the basketball court. Both lists are growing by the day.

So what sport does Fuchs want to play on the next level?

“I would really love the opportunity to do both [in college],” Fuchs said. “If the opportunity presents itself and it’s a really great situation to play either one of the two, just play one sport at a certain college, I’d take that opportunity. But I’m really focused on trying to do both sports in college.”
