Lincoln (11-0) has been practically unstoppable on both sides of the ball, outscoring opponents, 468-74. Between running back Kareem Folkes, quarterback Jessel Jones, and wide receiver Denzel Duchenne, the Railsplitters offense has scored 40 or more points in seven games this season. Folkes has been a blur, making himself an end zone mainstay with 1,500 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Lincoln's defense has been just as prolific, boasting five shutouts, with two coming against Canarsie and Fort Hamilton.
How they got here: It's important to note that the Railsplitters are coming off their most difficult game of the season, a 30-28 pulse-pounding quarterfinal victory over Thomas Jefferson, a win they will no doubt use to refocus against Clinton.
Clinton (8-3) is playing in it's first PSAL semifinal since 1989 and has been a revelation after last season's 5-6 record. Quarterback, Ryan Camilo has been a picture of consistency for the Governors since transferring from Cardinal Hayes. Meanwhile, running back Ashton McKenzie has put the work in for Clinton on the ground.
How they got here: The Governors managed to put away an ailing Fort Hamilton team in the quarterfinals. The defending PSAL champs were without quarterback Marvin Centeno and his back-up and all-around athlete Travon Reid Segure.
Despite their unexpected resurgence, this will be quite a tall task fhe Governors facing a an undefeated Lincoln team on a 17-game home winning streak. After last season's loss to Fort Hamilton in the finals, the Railsplitters are intent on returning to Yankee Stadium and no one has yet to stop them.
Will Lincoln continue its unbeaten run to Yankee Stadium or will Clinton return to The Bronx with a berth in the final? Find out today at Noon right here on MSGVarsity.com.
