FCIAC boys player of the week: Jeremiah Livingston

Westhill sophomore Jeremiah Livingston has been named the MSG Varsity's FCIAC Player of the Week for Jan. 7-12 by a panel of athletic directors and MSG Varsity reporters.

Livingston racked up 49 points in two games as the Vikings posted a pair of huge wins against Norwalk 63-55, and Bassick 84-75. The 10th-grader led Westhill with 23 points in the victory over Norwalk last Tuesday, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter when the Vikings pulled away. Three days later, Westhill topped Bassick, as Livingston filled the stat sheet with 26 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.

What's your biggest athletic goal for 2012-13?
Livingston: "To win FCIACs then states."

Who is your favorite teammate and why?
Livingston: "CJ Donaldson. We're both sophomores and played together as kids. There's a definite connection on the court."

What's the best piece of advice you've received?
Livingston: "Coach says stay hungry and never be satisfied."

Which athlete is your biggest influence?
Livingston: "Lebron James. In addition to his all-around game, I like his story going back to childhood."

What's your proudest accomplishment away from the game?
Livingston: "I've been able to improve my grades a little bit."
