Live game primer: Trinity Catholic vs. St. Joe's will be live-streaming the FCIAC football showdown between Trinity Catholic and St. Joseph at Stratford's Bunnell H.S. on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Crusaders (7-1) had their storybook season halted by Darien last week, 26-20, but are still very much in the hunt in the race for one of eight Class S playoff spots. Trinity Catholic is currently fifth, with a game at Wilton on Thanksgiving also remaining.

Shaquan Howsie leads the Crusaders with 843 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, while Sean Brown and Randy Polonia each have eight offensive touchdowns to their credit.

Defensively, Trinity Catholic is spearheaded by linebackers Cody Zaro, David Deleo and Matt Christensen -- all of whom are averaging double-digit tackles per game.

Meanwhile, the Cadets (6-2) are coming off back-to-back blowouts of Warde and Bassick, and need a victory to stay alive in the Class M tournament chase.

Strong-armed junior Jordan Vazzano has emerged as one of the league's top quarterbacks, and has passed for 1,600 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Vazzano's favorite target is senior Jake Pelletier, who has 36 receptions for 637 yards and 12 TDs.

Among the defensive stalwarts for the Cadets are senior linebackers Mike Pulaski, Kurtis Mudre and Matt Hare.

St. Joe's won last year's meeting, 29-14, in Stamford.
