Danbury wrestler Kevin Jack has been named the MSG Varsity's FCIAC Player of the Week for Feb 25-March 1 by a panel of athletic directors and MSG Varsity reporters.
Greenwich's Casey Gaynor has been named MSG Varsity's male FCIAC Athlete of the Week for April 16-21 by a panel of athletic directors and MSG Varsity reporters. Gaynor fired a one-hit shutout in the Cardinals’ 4-0 victory over Brien McMahon and ace Bryan Daniello last Wednesday. The senior righty struck out five in six innings, and the hit he surrendered was a bloop single to centerfield to leadoff the fourth inning. After the hit, Gaynor retired the next nine hitters for the win. Greenwich has won its first 11 games to begin the season. Gaynor is aiming to continue his career at Elon University, which he will attend as recruited walk-on.
