ALL-LONG ISLAND GIRLS LACROSSE SECOND TEAM

ATTACK

EVE CALABRIA
Sachem North, committed to Bucknell

No one in Suffolk County had more helpers than the Bucknell-bound attack, who had 60 assists to go along with 34 goals. She had two goals and six assists in the Flaming Arrows biggest win of the season, an 11-8 victory over eventual Long Island champions Middle Country.

 

TAYLOR CARSON
Wantagh, committed to Arizona State

The Arizona State-bound senior had 41 goals and 11 assists, helping lead the Warriors to the Nassau Class C title. Carson had three goals in a 15-9 win over Cold Spring Harbor in the county final and scored three of her team’s four goals in a 9-4 loss to Mt. Sinai in the Long Island final.

 

JULIA SMITH
Smithtown East, committed to UMass-Amherst

The UMass-Amherst bound senior had 65 goals and 23 assists to help lead Smithtown East to the Suffolk Class A semifinals. She had six goals and one assist in a 14-9 win over Riverhead in the quarterfinals and one goal and one assist in a 12-8 loss to Middle Country in the semifinals.

 

MIDFIELD

EMERSON CABRERA (Junior)
Northport, verbally committed to Florida

The Florida-bound junior had 50 goals and 12 assists, helping lead Northport in a run to the county semifinals. Cabrera scored four goals, including the tying goal and the insurance tally with 5:13 remaining in an 8-6 win over Ward Melville in the Suffolk Class A semifinals.

 

MAGGIE CASEY
Sacred Heart, committed to Boston College

The Boston College-bound senior had 34 goals and eight assists to help lead Sacred Heart to the NSCHSAA Class AAA final. She netted a hat trick in a 15-13 regular season win over St. Anthony’s and had two goals and one assist in a semifinal win over St. John the Baptist.

 

KERRY MCKEEVER
Ward Melville, committed to Gettysburg College

The Patriots went undefeated during the regular season en route to capturing the Suffolk Division I title and the Gettysburg College-bound senior is a big reason why. McKeever had 45 goals and seven assists, including two in an 8-7 loss to Northport in the Suffolk ‘A’ semifinals.

 

ALY PALERMO
Seaford, committed to Northwestern

The Northwestern-bound senior had 54 goals and 22 assists to help lead Seaford to the Nassau Class C quarterfinals. Palermo had four goals and five assists in an 18-10 playoff win over Floral Park and scored twice in a loss to Cold Spring Harbor in the quarterfinals.

 

SIOBHAN RAFFERTY
Long Beach, committed to Stony Brook

Long Beach made a historic run to its first-ever county final and the Stony Brook-bound senior was a big reason why. Rafferty had 54 goals and 13 assists, including two in a 17-7 loss to Garden City in the Nassau Class B final.  

 

RACHEL ROSEN
Port Washington, committed to Penn State

The Penn State-bound senior had 21 goals and 50 assists for Port Washington, which lost to Massapequa in the Nassau Class A final. Rosen had one goal and four assists to spark a late-game comeback in a triple-overtime win over Syosset in the semifinals.

 

DEFENSE

DEVON HEANEY
Garden City, committed to USC

The USC-bound senior anchored a quick, aggressive and stout Garden City defense that allowed just 6.2 goals per game and gave up double figures just twice en route to a second straight New York State Class B title.

 

GOALIE

KAITLYN LARSSON
Garden City, committed to Loyola

The Loyola-bound senior was a stalwart in the cage for the Trojans. She made 164 saves and came up biggest in the biggest games of the year, including 11 in the Nassau ‘B’ final against Long Beach and 10 in the New York State Class B final against Fayetteville-Manlius
