Floyd's Otranto stays on the Island

Two years ago, AJ Otranto was handing off to Stacey Bedell at Stony Brook University en route to a Class I Long Island Championship.

He'll be coming back to LaValle Stadium in the fall.

The reigning Boomer Esiason Award winner made his committment official as he signed his National Letter of Intent with Stony Brook University on Wednesday.

Otranto capped off brilliant career, that featured three Long Island Championship game appearances, with two passing TDs and two rushing TDs in Class I victory over Farmingdale in 2012.

He's a fiery team leader and big-game performer. In his senior season, passed for 1,440 yards and 21 TDs; rushed for 434 yards (an 8.35 average) and eight TDs.
