Live game primer: Longwood at Ward Melville baseball

MSGVarsity.com live access is back in action with the first Long Island baseball game of the season between Ward Melville and Longwood beginning at 4:15 p.m. from Ward Melville High School.

These two teams have quite a series thus far.

In Game One, Phil Carballeira went 2-for-3 with a two-run double in the third, while Joe Flynn hit a homerun to lead the offense for the Patriots. Chris Cepeda pitched the complete game, allowing six hits and a walk while recording nine strikeouts for the 6-1 win.

Game two was all Longwood in their 9-0 victory. Kris Killackey pitched a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts for the Lions. Joe Harris went 3-for-3 with three runs and a triple and Camden Orologio went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Aaron Floyd went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and two RBIs.
