Chris Cepeda pitched a complete game shutout, allowing three hits, hitting three batters and striking out three and Anthony Kay reached on a bunt and scored the games only run on an RBI ground out by Kyle Pedroli in the first inning to lead Ward Melville over Massapequa in the Long Island Class AA championship game at Dowling Sports Complex.

(4) Massapequa 2, (1) MacArthur 0

Game 1: Massapequa 6, MacArthur 0

Alex Cosenza pitched a complete game shutout to lead No. 4 Massapequa to victory over top seed MacArthur in Game 1 of the Nassau Class AA baseball finals. Game 2 has been postponed to Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Farmingdale State.

Game 2: Massapequa 7, MacArthur 5

Bobby Honeyman and Nick Comito each had two-run singles in the second inning to give Massapequa (20-5) a 5-0 lead in Game 2 of the Nassau Class A best-of-three final at SUNY Farmingdale. Patrick Healy took a no-hitter into the fifth and Honeyman pitched the last two innings for the save for Massapequa, which sweeps the series, 2-0.

Game 1: MacArthur 1, Syosset 0

Rob Andreoli singled, stole second and eventually came around to score the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning for No. 1 MacArthur (19-3) in its 1-0 win over No. 7 Syosset (15-9). Adam Heidenfelder tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits, while striking out nine and walking one. Carmine Criscione pitched two scoreless innings, allowing two hits, while striking out one and walking none for the win. Zach Greenspan pitched a six-hitter through 10 innings, striking out 10 and walking two for the Braves.

Game 2: MacArthur 7, Syosset 5

Sean Carey went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs to lead No. 1 MacArthur over No. 7 Syosset in the second game of a Class AA semifinals series.

Game 1: Massapequa 17, Carey 1

Nick Fanneron went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs and Bobby Honeyman went 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI and Michael Cardino went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run to lead No. 4 Massapequa (17-5) over No. 3 Carey in game one of a Nassau AA semifinal.

Brian Flecker went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, one run scored and one stolen base to lead No. 4 Massapequa over No. 3 Carey in the second game of a Class AA semifinals series.

Game 1: MacArthur 5, Bellmore-JFK 0

Anthony DeNunzio went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Rob Andreoli went 2-for-3 with two runs and Adam Heidenfelder pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead No. 1 MacArthur (17-3) over No. 8 Bellmore JFK (12-9) in game one of a best-of-three Class AA quarterfinal.

Game 2: MacArthur 3, Bellmore-JFK 1

Sean Carey had an RBI double in the tenth that scored Brandon Kustek to put MacArthur up 2-1, Dom Danetti started and went eight ininngs with nine strikeouts and four hits allowed and Dylan Pearce went 3-for-4 with a run to lead No. 1 MacArthur (18-3) over No. 8 Bellmore JFK in game two of a Class AA quarterfinal. Justin Stybel pitched nine plus innings and allowed three earned runs and eight hits for Bellmore JFK.

(6) Syosset 2, (2) Hicksville 1

Game 1: Hicksville 3, Syosset 2

Ryan Schultheiss delivered an RBI single to score Mike Reilly to give No. 2 Hicksville (18-2) a 3-2 win in 12 innings. Reilly went 2-for-5, with four stolen bases. Ron Bauer pitched nine innings, allowing two earned runs, while striking out nine. Reliever T.J. Carola tossed three scoreless innings and allowed two hits and struck out two to earn the win. No. 7 Syosset (10-8) was led by reliever Zach Greenspan, who tossed 7 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and an unearned run, while striking out six.

Game 2: Syosset 4, Hicksville 0

Carlos Solorzano tossed a two-hit shutout, with one walk, to lead No. 7 Syosset (14-8) in its Nassau Class AA quarterfinal win over No. 2 Hicksville (18-3). Kevin Kehne's two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning was the game's final margin. Joe Morris went 2-for-3, with an RBI and a run. Corey Stein was 2-for-3.

Game 3: Syosset 5, Hicksville 4

Mike Schaake doubled in Jake Mitchnick in the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie, Steven Sessa went 2-for-4 and Jake Laine pitched six innings and scattered seven hits to lead No. 7 Syosset (15-8) over No. 2 Hicksville in the deciding Game 3 of a AA quarterfinal.

(3) Carey 2, (7) Calhoun 0

Game 1: Carey 13, Calhoun 9

Andrew Ris went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and six RBIs to lead No. 3 Carey over No. 6 Calhoun in the first game of a three-game Class AA quarterfinals series. Calhoun (13-7) will host the second game against Carey (14-6) Wednesday at 4:45. James Harrison went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Game 2: Carey 9, Calhoun 4

Erick Vilchez had six strikeouts and allowed five hits and three earned runs in a complete game, Darren Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a home run, Anthony Catapano went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs and John Heyer went 3-for-3 with a double to lead No. 3 Carey (15-6) over No. 6 Calhoun in game two of the Class AA quarterfinals.

(4) Massapequa 2, (5) Oceanside 0

Game 1: Massapequa 1, Oceanside 0

Alex Cosenza allowed eight singles, struck out six, and walked one in the Class AA quarterfinal win over (5) Oceanside. Nick Fanneron's triple in the third drove in Nick Comito. (3) Massapequa (15-5) takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.

Game 2: Massapequa 6, Oceanside 2

Brian Flecker's RBI single in the sixth gave No. 4 Massapequa (16-5) a 3-0 lead en route to the clinching Game 2 victory in the Class AA quarterfinals. Patrick Healy pitched a four-hitter, allowing one earned run with two strikeouts.

(5) Oceanside 10, (12) Long Beach 6

Jason Weiner went 3-for-4, with a homer, double, three RBIs and three runs for No. 5. Oceanside (14-5) in its Nassau Class AA first round win over No. 12 Long Beach. Francis Rapp was 3-for-3, with a double, three RBIs and two runs. James Long pitched six innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs, while striking out 10 and walking two.

(6) Calhoun 12, (11) East Meadow 8

Colin Lowe pitched five innings, struck out six and did not allow any runs, and Chris Melito went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead No. 6 Calhoun over No. 11 East Meadow in a Class AA quarterfinals game.

(7) Syosset 1, (10) Farmingdale 0

Jake Laine struck out seven with no walks in a two-hitter as No. 7 Syosset (10-7) topped 10th-seeded Farmingdale in a Nassau Class AA first-round game. Steven Sessa scored Alex Perry with a squeeze bunt in the bottom of the fourth for the game's only run. Laine and Farmingdale's starter Anthony Galanoudis had a no-hitters through three innings.

(8) Bellmore-JFK 11, vs. (9) Mepham 10

Jake Schwartz's two-run single plated Justin Ganca and Michael McCormick in the bottom of the ninth to give No. 8 Bellmore JFK (12-8) an 11-10 win over No. 9 Mepham in a Nassau Class AA first round. Schwartz went 3-for-6, with a grand slam and seven RBIs.
