Sachem East remains perfect.

The Flaming Arrows (7-0) were able to pull off six pins as they took down William Floyd, 57-15, on Wednesday night.

Sachem East jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead when John Faulkner pinned Mackenzie Barnett with 13 seconds remaining in the second period. However, Floyd would win the next two bouts on decision with Tom Digirolamo and Mat Bradice coming away with 4-0 and 11-4 victories respectively to tie it at 6.

Anthony Messina would come up with the turning point of the match when he was able to pin Steve Iannone just before the buzzer sounded for the end of the second period to give the Arrows back a 6-point advantage.

Following Messina’s victory at 126 lbs., Sachem East would go on to win the next five weight classes. During that span the Arrows would receive pins from Mike Pistone (152 lbs.) and Tom Williams (160), as well as a technical fall by Conor O’Hara in the 132 lb. weight class to break the match wide-open at 36-6.

Dan Palminteri (170) and Devin Doran (195) were the lone bright spots for the Colonials (6-4) after the early victories. Palminteri edged Mark Tracy with an 8-4 decision and Doran had an impressive 2:09 pin of Sean Dee.

Although when it hit the upper weight classes, Sachem East shined bright again. John Vigh at 220 lbs. pinned Robert Sinchi, and in the last matchup of the night Josh Edmonson handled Noah Ruck with a smooth 8-1 decision.
