BINGHAMTON - Smithtown Christian is one win away from its second straight Class D state baseball championship.

The Knights beat previously undefeated Fort Ann, 6-4, in a semifinal game Saturday at MacArthur Park. They play the winner of the Oriskany-Westfield semifinal for the championship Saturday at 4 p.m.

Jimmy Seviour earned the win for Smithtown Christian, striking out six and allowing one earned run on four hits in a complete game.

Smithtown Christian (12-10) scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-4 lead. Sal Ciaravino, who singled, scored the winning run on a balk with no outs.

"We were down last year in the tournament and we just knew never to give up, not until the end of that seventh inning," coach Chris White said. "The boys pressed on. They were tough to beat."
