Garden City's Ryan Norton, a 2011 Newsday All-Long Island first-team kicker has officially signed to play football at Syracuse University next fall.

Norton has made his mark on the Garden City and Nassau County record books in his time as a Trojan. In three years, Norton was a career 13 for 20 on field goal attempts (second Nassau County history) and amassed 133 career kicking points (Nassau record).

The future Orange kicked for 88 touchbacks in 2010 and 2011, which represented two-thirds of all kickoffs.

Norton is strongly considered to get the starting placekicking job with the Orange next year.
