DePaul set to begin county repeat run

Defending champion DePaul, No. 7 in the MSG Varsity New Jersey Top 15, drew the top seed for the upcoming Passaic County Tournament, which will begin on Feb. 4.

A year ago, DePaul (11-1) outlasted Eastern Christian, 54-32, for its first PCT crown since 1996. And, it will look toward junior center Jade Walker, who had 15 points and 16 boards in last year’s final, to lead the defense of the title. John F. Kennedy (9-4), Passaic Tech (8-2) and Eastside (9-4) round out the top four seeds.

Quarterfinal games will be held on Feb. 11 at Passaic Tech in Little Falls, which will also serve as the venue for the semifinals on Feb. 18. The championship is set for 2:30 on Feb. 25 at Wayne Valley.
