Taken to overtime by Manalapan on Thursday, the Patriots got a golden goal from Jen Weinstock in the second extra session to pull out a 2-1 victory. Township, the top seed in the Shore Conference Tournament, will open play Thursday against Point Boro.
The Admirals steamrolled the competition in Section 1 despite facing just about every prominent team, allowing just one goal all year. Now the quest for another state championship begins. Arlington is the No. 1 seed and a heavy favorite in Class AA sectional tournament and have proven well equipped to handle the expectations.

Mia Suchora scored in the first half to spark the second-seeded Raiders to a 1-0 decision against Westwood on Sunday in the Bergen County quarterfinals.
The Garnets completed a stellar regular season. After dropping a 2-0 contest with Arlington in the opener, Rye exhibited great scoring balance and a rigid defensive unit to win 14 of 15. The only blemish was a tie with Albertus Magnus in mid-September. Rye is a slight favorite entering what should be a competitive Section 1 Class A tournament.
Katie Arrigan finished a pair of assists by Maddi Lui to pace second-seeded Ridge to a 2-0 showing against Mount St. Mary on Saturday in the quarterfinal phase of the Somerset County Tournament. The Red Devils have won six straight.
Senior midfielder Kayla Lee has scored in three straight matches for the Cougars, who ran their win streak to four with a 3-1 triumph against Marlboro. Keeper Kaitlin Torres has pocketed six shutouts over the last eight contests.
The reigning Class A sectional champions closed the season with the same fury they did last year before embarking on their title run. The Pirates enter the postseason on a seven-game winning streak and locked up a league title in the final week with one-goal victories over Nanuet and Tappan Zee.
Katie Boehm converted a Lindsay Wolf pass in the 67th minute to give the third-seeded Warriors all the offense necessary to top Bernards, 1-0, on Saturday in the Somerset quarterfinals. Kaylee Donnelly turned away five shots in the shutout. Chloe Ferreira scored twice on Tuesday to key a 2-1 win over Phillipsburg, Watchung Hills’ fifth in a row.
The Redbirds continue to be both overpowering and unyielding. Junior Emma Pascarella (15 goals, 13 assists) and senior Carly Roche (10 goals, seven assists) pace an attack that’s compiled 64 goals while a defense fortified by Marin Hartshorn, Alissa DeFelice, Lauren Coiante, Madi Keefe and keeper Abby Howell has surrendered just four in return.

After suffering a 1-0 loss at Kings Park, Islip reeled off three straight wins, including 6-0 at Rocky Point Tuesday. The Tigers couldn’t keep the momentum after an emotional win over St. Joseph two weeks ago. They were beaten by Staples and played New Canaan to a scoreless tie this week. Ridgefield is fourth behind Staples, Darien and St. Joseph for the top seed in the FCIAC tournament, which begins next week.
There’s just something about Ridgefield for the Cadets, who were handed their first loss on Monday in a rematch of the FCIAC title game. St. Joe’s, the two-time Class M state champs, were also coming off a tie with Trumbull on Saturday. They should be able to rebuild momentum for the postseason and get another crack at Ridgefield.
