The Challenge: Ardsley wins Tri-State championship

BETHPAGE–Ardsley High School has completed their run through the Regional Competition and Tri-State Playoffs of MSG Varsity’s “The Challenge” to be crowned the 2011-12 Overall Tri-State Champions.

By winning the Tri-State Championship, Ardsley High School receives $10,000 and the Trophy honoring them as Tri-State Champions. Each student participant in the final “Challenge” Championship game received $500.

The Ardsley team is represented by Rohan Pitre, Adam Gross-Leczycki, Ryan Rosenberg (captain), Josh Berlowitz and Bettina Cheung (alternate). The academic advisor is Danielle Wagner.

The 15th season of The Challenge included 192 high schools from the entire tri-state area — Long Island (with Nassau and Suffolk as two distinct regions), the Bronx, Brooklyn, Westchester/Lower Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Connecticut.  This season, Long Island was represented by 32 high schools from Nassau County and 32 high schools from Suffolk County. American Idol semi-finalist, Jared Cotter hosts “The Challenge,” quizzing competing teams on their knowledge of history, current events, math, science, arts and literature in front of a live studio audience.
