Niskayuna 13 Yorktown 11

At SUNY Albany, unbeaten Niskayuna (20-0) of Section 2 outscored Yorktown 4-1 in the decisive fourth quarter en route to a narrow 13-11 win. Brian Prestreau paced the Huskers' offense with four goals and Nick Bonitatibus added four assists. Nick Mariano (2G), Connor Vercruysse (2G), Danny Manning (2G), Luke Palmadesso (1A) and Billy Strassman (1A) rounded out the offensive production. Goalie Zach Reilly recorded 10 saves. Palmadesso and Manning also combined to win 18 of 27 faceoffs. Luke Goldstock powered the Silver Warriors with a game-high five points on four goals and one assist. Aidan O'Brien (1G, 3A), Michael D'Amario (2G, 1A), Lucas Maloney (2G), Ryan Lawson (1G, 1A), John Prendergast (1G) and Tyler Pantalone (1G) also contributed. Goalie Evan Quinn stopped 12 shots. D'Amario broke an 11-11 tie with 5:37 left in regulation, diving cross crease before dumping it into the net. The two teams played to a 2-2 tie in the opening quarter, however, both offenses came alive in the second. The Huskers outscored Niskayuna 6-5 to take an 8-7 lead into the break. Yorktown carried a 10-9 lead into the decisive fourth quarter but came undone late. Niskayuna advances to face Section 9's Cornwall in the regional final next Saturday at SUNY Albany. 


Bronxville 20, Glens Falls 3

At SUNY Albany, Bronxville (20-1) jumped out to a 14-2 halftime lead and cruised to a 20-3 win over Glens Falls (9-6) of Section 2. The Broncos will face Section 9's Red Hook in the regional final next Saturday at Walter Panas High School. Georgetown-bound junior attackman Matt Behrens tallied five goals and two assists to lead Bronxville's offense. The Hopkins-bound Grass brothers — Jack and Henry — added three goals and one assist apiece. Reilly Walsh (3G), Michael Crawford (1G, 1A), Jack DePaul (2G), Will Duncan (1G), Aidan Walsh (1G, 1A), Matt James (1G) and James McDermott (1A) rounded out the offensive production. Starting goalie Eric Pass made five saves and backup Lucas Carneiro made two saves. Connor Toich, Matt Girard and Connor McGuirk each scored for Glens Falls and goalie Nate Austin had 10 saves. 


Shenendehowa 13, Mamaroneck 8

At SUNY Albany, Section 2's Shenendehowa (17-3) limited the Tigers to just two second-half goals and rolled to the 13-8 victory. Kyle Marr — the nephew of Yorktown coach Dave Marr — led the Plainsmen with three goals and three assists. D.J. Edick (4G, 1A) and Brian Rogers (2G, 2A) also had strong games offensively, while goalie Ben Robbins stopped 12 shots. Scott Greenberg paced Mamaroneck (13-7) with a team-high four goals. Pete Conley added a goal and two assists and Danny McCarthy, Reed Malas and Justin Csenge each scored once. Goalie Thomas Brill made seven saves. 'Shen jumped out to a 4-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Mamaroneck then responded with a four-goal surge of its own to tie it up with 8:01 left in the second. The Plainsmen closed out the half on a 4-2 run and led 8-6 at the break. 'Shen — which never trailed and led 10-7 after three quarters — buried back-to-back goals to open the fourth to stretch its lead to five goals. Next up, 'Shen will face Section 9 champ Minisink Valley in the regional final next Saturday at SUNY Albany at 6 p.m.
